Weekend Recap: 2025 Week 5 (Sept 18 – Sept 20)

The 2025 high school football action continued this past weekend with some great games across Pennsylvania! Here is Mr. PA Football’s recap of some of the top games.

Parkland Stays Perfect, Drubs Nazareth Area 42-6

Unfortunately, again, one of the most anticipated Pennsylvania high school football games of the weekend ended up being a one-sided affair. Partly because Nazareth Area superstar QB Peyton Falzone was out with an injury and it seemed like all the focus was on Nazareth’s quarterback situation last week.

All of this attention on the Blue Eagles seemed to motivate Parkland junior quarterback Finn Coen. Coen had his finest moment, throwing a pair of touchdown passes to pace Parkland to an impressive 42-6 mercy-rule victory over the host Nazareth Area.

Nazareth Area sophomore quarterback Cooper Madson made his first career start in place of the injured Auburn commit Falzone. Madson completed 20 of 32 passes for 178 passing yards with one touchdown pass and one interception. The lone interception proved to be costly as the Trojans intercepted the pass in the end zone on the last play of the first half.

Parkland was leading 28-0 by the time the Blue Eagles scored their first touchdown of the game. Also, the Trojan special teams were a huge factor in this contest of the unbeatens. Parkland got a blocked punt for a touchdown. Junior RB/S Naquon Thomason got a hand on the ball and senior DE Domenic Matrich ran it in. In addition, two long punt returns by senior WR/CB Nassim Adams helped set up two touchdowns.

Junior RB/LB T.J. Lawrence ran for two touchdowns and also caught a TD pass from Coen. The Trojans coasted to an easy victory on Friday night and controlled the line of scrimmage with a 228-50 rushing advantage.
