Kyle Datres Nominated to Be Mr. PA Football

Kyle Datres, a standout quarterback for the Loyalsock football team, is currently in the running for the title of Mr. PA Football 2014. The statewide contest, which pits well known names on the football field against each other, has fans voting for their favorite athlete in order to determine who will hold the distinction of being Mr. PA Football for the next year.

An athlete who has dominated in football, baseball, and basketball, Datres has a combined yardage of well over 8,000 yards and 108 touchdowns. He has been named to the 2014 Pennsylvania Writers’ AA All-State team as well as the First Team All State Quarterback. His success extends beyond the football field, though, as he has been named to the First Team All State as a free safety and point guard for basketball and First Team All State as a shortstop and pitcher for baseball as well. He has committed to the University of North Carolina to play baseball after his graduation from Loyalsock this spring.

“Kyle Datres’s football career was a historic career based on his statistics and honors raining from all state honors, team mvps, to school records in many statistical categories,” said Loyalsock Head Coach Justin Van Fleet. “We are all very proud of those accomplishments, but even more so proud of all that Kyle has represented for our community. He has lead our athletics programs with integrity, a tremendous pride, and with fanatical courage. Kyle Datres is all that a coach, parent, or teacher would ever want  to develop in a young man. I am proud to have coached Kyle over the past four years. Sport’s Recruiters could find not find a better candidate for this honor.”

Datres has been nominated and selected to be amongst the top six high school football athletes statewide through a unique voting process. The fans, media, and coaches each represent one-third of the vote.

Fans can cast their vote at Mr. PA Football webpage. The final voting deadline for the winner of Mr. PA Football is February 15.
