De’Vante Cross, a standout quarterback for the Parkland football team, has advanced to the top six nominees for the MR. PA Football contest. The statewide contest, which pits well known names on the football field against each other, has fans voting for their favorite athlete in order to determine who will hold the distinction of being Mr. PA Football for the next year.
Cross has long been commanding attention for his feats on the field – this past season alone, he accounted for 4,332 total yards of offense. He has also been named to the 2015 Pennsylvania Football Writers’ Class AAAA All-State team. A senior, he committed to playing for the University of Virginia last month.
“De’Vante, the PFN Class AAAA Offensive Player of the Year, passed for more than 2,900 yards in 2015,” said Parkland Head Coach Jim Morgans. “DeVante’s uncanny athletic ability and leadership led the Parkland Trojans to the PA state finals.”
